I am 22 and most of the points highly resonate with all the mental development I am going through at the moment. You are one of the few people that take the aesthetic of a cool autistic nerd but then actually apply it to a grotty, unpleasant reality without insane levels of cope. Your voice means a lot.
Please share your plan, I'll see how I can help / fit it with mine. Most people on this planet are busy daydreaming themselves into oblivion. But there are also many like us who are currently lucid, and some are amongst the brightest, most capable minds in existence. I believe that it is our duty to fully grasp the responsibility that is on our shoulder, and to coordinate better. We are at war, and we are losing. We need a proper Manhattan Project for AI safety and we need it now.
Big hero energy in the best way, thank you, Connor. Love it all but especially the ending about evil (so much more dangerous when we try to explain it away as not evil) and the big vision for humanity. Again, thank you.
I loved this post. Loved the way you wrote it. I don't agree with everything you said (mostly nuance stuff towards the end, except #31), but with most of it. You seem pretty cool. I'm working on a pretty similar quest I think and I wanna know about your vision for how to save the world. Be less alone in it
Very beautiful and straight to the point. As a recent graduate of the teens, I'll probably look at this list in the future and realize these reflections, while not universal, are more true then on my first read through. Congrats on turning 30!
It feels like you tend to view many issues in a very black-and-white way, framing them as either good or bad, evil. Considering them in a more nuanced, grayscale perspective and staying open to different viewpoints might be a more balanced approach for personal growth imho. That said, your article was very insightful and thought-provoking—I appreciate the effort you put into it!
As a lover and writer of lists of 30s, this is definitely an amazing one! I also love breaking the rules and adding the 31st. You have so much more time to live and observe this world. I'm coming up to my 40 under 40 and the 30s decade has been my favorite. Looking forward to more posts!
As a non-native English speaker, I enjoy this kind of reading. It truly makes my day, it actually distracts me from my reality for a little bit. I just subscribed! You rock man. Regards from Argentina.
Your description of real evil sounds you are describing narcissism, narcissistic personality disorder, and Cluster B personality disorders more broadly.
> They always have an excuse. It's never their fault. They're always the victim. Every bad thing you see them do has some explanation why this was a one off, or actually completely justified. Any individual “mask slip” will be possible to explain away, and they will try a lot to gaslight you into dismissing each individual case (and try to make you look crazy if you try to alert others to these dangers).
Compare this with the "The Narcissist's Prayer", a poem intended to illustrate narcissistic behavior:
Half my lifetime ago I was 30, the first time I recognized myself as a sane, sentient human, although with half the self awareness then that you have now.
Can’t wait to see what you do in these next 2-5 years. If I can ever be helpful please reach out. Maybe even our paths will cross.

Stay cool and happy birthday!
Thank you for this masterpiece.

Love and Kindness.

> That didn't happen.
> And if it did, it wasn't that bad.
> And if it was, that's not a big deal.
> And if it is, that's not my fault.
> And if it was, I didn't mean it.
> And if I did
> You deserved it.
Masterpiece is right.
